Prisma Cloud, Cortex XDR and Cortex Data Lake provide best-in-class capabilities for Singapore and regional customers’ cloud journeys and help them with their data residency needs
SINGAPORE, 17 July, 2020 — Palo Alto Networks (NYSE: PANW), the global cybersecurity leader, today unveiled its new Singapore cloud location dedicated to serving local and regional customers. The new cloud location will enable Singapore-based and other regional organisations to benefit from direct, high-performance access to Palo Alto Networks Prisma™ Cloud, Cortex XDR™ and Cortex™ Data Lake, while allowing storage of their data within Singapore borders.
Currently, Singapore and regional customers benefit from Palo Alto Networks APAC WildFire® Cloud, which was first launched in 2017 and will continue to serve the region.
“The current economic climate has accelerated organisations’ shift to the cloud. In Asia-Pacific and Japan, we have a large base of customers who are looking for a comprehensive security platform to protect their cloud workloads. Prisma and Cortex, which are cloud-hosted, address this need by providing unparalleled visibility and all-encompassing threat protection for customers who migrate workloads to the cloud. Through this initiative, we are committed to providing our customers with the maximum security protection where they need it the most,” said Simon Green, president of Japan and Asia-Pacific, Palo Alto Networks.
Addressing data sovereignty and privacy needs has also been important among organisations in Singapore. The new cloud location will help customers meet these needs when deploying cloud-based security solutions.
The Singapore cloud location provides customers with access to Prisma Cloud, Cortex XDR and Cortex Data Lake, while ensuring that their data stays within Singapore:
Prisma™ Cloud: Singapore customers can be protected by the industry’s most comprehensive Cloud Native Security Platform, which transforms their cloud journey by securing their public cloud environments and cloud native applications.
Cortex XDR™: Singapore customers can take advantage of this extended detection and response platform that integrates endpoint, network and cloud data to stop sophisticated attacks.
Cortex™ Data Lake: Singapore customers can collect, transform and integrate their enterprise’s security data to enable Palo Alto Networks solutions.
“Investing in local cloud infrastructure is part of Palo Alto Networks continued commitment to customers around the world, wherever their data resides. Singapore was chosen not only because it is our regional headquarters, but also for the country’s mature cloud market and reliable infrastructure. The new cloud location will also support the Singapore Government’s stated cloud strategy to host most of its IT solutions on commercial clouds,” Simon added.
